Abstract

This study aims to (1) determine the gender stereotypes of users in the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta library; (2) to find out the interest in visiting librarians at the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta library; (3) to determine the effect of gender stereotypes on the visitor's interest in visiting the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta library. This study uses an associative quantitative descriptive method or relationship. The subjects in this research were active library users at UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta. The variables in this study are gender stereotypes (X) and visitor interest (Y). The population of this study is active students, totaling 21,897. Sampling used probability sampling technique and obtained a sample of 100 respondents. The data collection technique uses a closed questionnaire with 4 alternative answers. Testing the validity of using product moment correlation and reliability testing using Cronbach Alpha. Data analysis used descriptive statistics and simple linear regression. Data processing used the IBM SPSS Statistics 26 program. The results showed that the influence of gender stereotypes was quite good, as evidenced by the grand mean value of the gender stereotype variable of 3.48. Interest in visitor visits to UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta students is relatively good with a grand mean value of 2.98. The results of the study are also evidenced by the results of linearity with a value of 0.09 which means that if the significance value is > 0.05 then H0 is accepted and H1 is rejected. H0, namely there is a relationship or influence between the two variables
