Abstract

Indonesia is the top 4 in YouTube media usage with gaming content being one of the most popular. Based on data from the streamcharts.com website, Windah Basudara is the 8th most popular with 2.89 billion viewers. Windah Basudara is one of the YouTubers who live streams to raise funds or charity. Charity 1 Billion from Windah Basudara and his team, JAYA Esport, was carried out after the announcement of his break from YouTube and not long after Windah Basudara returned suddenly wanting to make charity activities on his live streaming without stopping with a target of 1 billion donations collected. In the live streaming that is carried out, of course, it creates different perceptions from the public. The purpose of this study is to analyze the perceptions of students in the interests of YouTube content charity 1 billion Windah Basudara. The research method to be used is descriptive qualitative research method. The subjects of this research are communication science students of UIN Sunan Kalijaga class 20 as viewers of the Windah Basudara Charity Stream. The object of research in this study is the perception of students towards the live streaming charity Windah Basudara. The results of this study are students' perceptions of YouTube content "Charity 1 Milyar Windah Basudara" reflect their commitment to social values, participation in real action to help others, and belief in the positive role of social media in bringing significant social change.
