Abstract

Peace is one of the main goals and focuses that must be realized and preserved. In order for people to understand the concept of peace, many musicians and artists use means of communication to convey the meaning of peace, such as video clips. One of them is Maher Zain's video clip Rahmatan Lil 'Alameen. This research aims to analyze the meaning of the peace message in Maher Zain's video clip Rahmatan Lil 'Alameen. This research using descriptive qualitative methods with Charles Sanders Peirce's semiotic analysis based on Johan Galtung's peace theory. The results of this research found that this video clip presents a peace message through signs depicting various conflicts such as discrimination, domestic violence, hunger, disobedience to parents, racism, and social inequality. The main message focuses on the presence of Prophet Muhammad SAW as a peace-loving bearer of Islamic teachings. This video illustrates the change from negative peace to positive peace
