Abstract

Chronic renal failure is a pathophysiological process that causes progressive decline in kidney function. Patients diagnosed with renal failure usually undergo dialysis therapy to maintain their quality of life. Patients undergoing hemodialysis do not rule out the possibility of developing comorbidities such as complications that cause patient discomfort, and increase stress and anxiety. One of the factors that influence anxiety is a person's spirituality. The spirituality of chronic renal failure patients can be obtained by following Islamic spiritual guidance in the hospital. One of the hospitals that provides spiritual guidance services is Nur Hidayah Bantul Hospital. Therefore, researchers are interested in conducting research and seeing whether or not there is an effect of the intensity of following Islamic spiritual guidance on the anxiety level of chronic renal failure patients in the hemodialysis room of Nur Hidayah Bantul Hospital. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there is an effect of the intensity of following Islamic spiritual guidance on the anxiety level of patients with chronic renal failure in the hemodialysis room of Nur Hidayah Bantul Hospital. Respondents in this study amounted to 51 patients with chronic renal failure who were running hemodialysis at Nur Hidayah Bantul Hospital. The sampling technique in this study used the Saturated Sampling technique. This research uses a combination approach or mixed methods. The type of research used is causality quantitative research with data collection techniques using two scales, namely the intensity scale of following Islamic spiritual guidance, and anxiety levels. The results of this study indicate that there is a significant influence between the intensity of following Islamic spiritual guidance on the anxiety level of chronic renal failure patients in the hemodialysis room of Nur Hidayah Bantul Hospital with the results of the sig level = 0.001 (P < 0.05).
