Abstract

This research aims to describe the stages of the acquisition of library materials carried out by the Balecatur Village Science Resource Library, the obstacle factor in the acquisitions of library materials and the solutions carried on by the managers of the Balacatur Village Scientific Resource library. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive. The data collection technique in this study uses interviews, observations, and documentation. Analysis of this research data through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion withdrawal. Validation of research data using observation extension, increased persistence, triangulation of source, technique, and time, negative case analysis, using refraction material and membercheck. Some of the stages of procurement of library materials at the Balecatur Village Science Resource Library are by making purchases using village funds, working in cooperation with the Sleman District Archives and Libraries or the Yogyakarta City Archives, or the Institute of Educational Organizers, and also obtaining donations, gifts and grants from public figures, local writers, or nearest SD and SMP. Balecatur Village Science Resource Library has already carried out most of the activities for the procurement of library materials while the provision of library materials through exchange has not been implemented due to the absence of cooperation activities between other libraries. The inhibitory factor in the procurement of library materials at the Balecatur Village Science Resource Library is in the village funds budget, which is small and minimal, the next inhibitor factor is the activities of the library material acquisition has not implemented the process of selection of librarian materials that come from the prizes, donations, and grants. The solution that the administrator of the Balecatur Village Science Resource Library has done in relation to the budget is to make and submit a proposal for a fund application to the councils residing in the province, besides that the manager also performs mandatory fees for the administrators of the library. Balecatur Village Science Resource Library adds a link that can help maintain the activities in the library, especially the procurement of library materials. The Balecatur Village Science Resource Library should make regulations relating to library materials derived from donations, gifts or grants
