Abstract

This research aims to determine librarians' strategies in making library accreditation a success (case study at the Gunungkidul Regency Library and Archives Service). This research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The method used to collect information and data uses observation, interviews and documentation. Data The collected data is then analyzed, through data reduction methods, data display and data verification. Then the data that has been analyzed is tested for the correctness of the data, through triangulation techniques, namely data triangulation, theory triangulation, method triangulation. The research results show that the strategy used by librarians In making library accreditation a success at the Gunungkidul Regency Library and Archives Service, namely by studying the key components and indicators of district/city public library accreditation, forming a team, preparing physical evidence, conducting self-evaluation, carrying out Accreditation simulations. In the activity of making library accreditation a success, there are several supporting and inhibiting factors, including lack of budget, lack of facilities and infrastructure, lack of human resources in terms of quality and quantity as an ideal library. Meanwhile, supporting factors in implementing accreditation activities at the Gunungkidul Regency Library and Archives Service include other things, there is support from regional leadership and budgeting of the Gunungkidul Regency Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget, leadership commitment to developing libraries in accordance with provisions so that the quality of library existence becomes better. Researchers suggest that the Gunungkidul Regency Library and Archives Service add human resources with a background in library science, evidence Physical records in the form of documents that are irregularly located should be archived based on the classification of the document so that it is easy to obtain it at any time, and always carry out documentation in every activity carried out by the Gunungkidul Regency Library and Archives Service.
