Abstract

This study aims to determine the information needs of students and the fulfilment of information needs of students of SMA MBS Sleman. This type of research uses quantitative methods with a descriptive approach. The population in this study were all members of the An-Nuur library of MBS Sleman High School. The sample in this study was obtained through calculations using the Slovin formula so that 93 respondents were obtained as samples. Data collection techniques in this study using questionnaires, observation, interviews, and documentation. The validity test in this study used product-moment correlation with a significance of 5% and the reliability test in this study used Cronbach's alpha formula. The results of this study show that the information needs of students get an average score of 3.65 and are classified as very high with details of information needs related to the environment having a score of 3.52, information needs related to social roles have a score of 3.82, and information needs related to individuals have a score of 3.62. Then the results of research on the fulfilment of information needs get an average score of 3.12 and are classified as good with details of information needs related to the environment having a score of 3.07, information needs related to social roles have a score of 3.21, and information needs related to individuals have a score of 3.09. This research is expected to provide input and evaluation to the An-Nuur Library of MBS Sleman High School in order to improve its reference services in fulfilling the information needs of students, especially on information needs related to the environment and information needs related to individuals.
