Abstract

In the rapid development of the internet and social media, teenagers are faced with various problems, one of which is the social media algorithm. Every social media platform today has a strategy so that users take a long time to dive into the platform, so that sometimes users are exposed to information they are not looking for without realizing it. This research aims to find out how exposure to social media affects the level of religiosity of MAN 2 Yogyakarta students. Apart from media exposure, this research also tries to find out how factors such as the credibility of preachers, stress coping, and hedonistic lifestyles affect the level of religiosity of MAN 2 Yogyakarta students. This research uses quantitative methods, where data collection uses survey techniques using questionnaires. The respondents in this research were MAN 2 Yogyakarta students, the data used in this research was a sample of 88 respondents. Based on the results of data analysis, this research shows that the variables of social media exposure, preacher credibility, and stress coping have a partially significant effect on the level of religiosity, while the variable hedonistic lifestyle have no partial effect on the level of religiosity. Simultaneously, the variables of exposure to social media, credibility of preachers, stress coping and hedonistic lifestyle have a significant effect on the level of religiosity of MAN 2 Yogyakarta students.
