Abstract

This study aims to analyze Ferry Irwandi’s communication strategy in delivering educational messages through the video “Exposing the Lies of Witchcraft & Indigo” on the YouTube channel @ferryirwandi. The content features an open challenge to practitioners of black magic to prove the existence of witchcraft, with the incentive of an Alphard car as a reward. A qualitative descriptive approach is employed, utilizing content analysis, observation, and documentation methods. The theoretical frameworks used are Mahaerani Fajar’s communication strategy model and Richard E. Mayer’s Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning (CTML). The findings indicate that Ferry Irwandi successfully captures the audience’s attention through persuasive narration, supporting visuals, and a scientific approach to explaining supernatural issues. The effective use of YouTube significantly broadens the reach of the message, especially among younger generations. The conclusion of this study is that Ferry Irwandi’s communication strategy effectively fosters public critical awareness toward witchcraft practices and mystical logic. This study recommends the strategic use of digital media for the dissemination of evidence-based educational messages.
