Abstract

This study was motivated by RA Bunayya, which has used videos on YouTube as a reference indicator in conducting teaching and learning activities, but still uses conventional methods with a direct approach, where teachers deliver material through verbal instructions. This causes limitations in the process of visualization, interaction, and children's creativity. The researcher used the instructional video learning method to determine the role of instructional videos in shaping the creativity of early childhood students at RA Bunayya Yogyakarta. Through this study, the researcher used instructional videos played from YouTube to guide the children in the process of making pudding, which was expected to increase their active involvement and creativity. This study uses a qualitative research method. The subjects of the study include the Principal, the Group A1 Teacher, and the Group A1 Students. Data collection was carried out through observation and interviews. The data analysis technique employed includes data condensation, data presentation, and drawing conclusions/verifications. The validity of this research was tested using source triangulation and technique triangulation. The present study sets forth and seeks to answer two research questions. The first research question posits an inquiry into the role that instructional video plays in shaping the creativity of early childhood students. The second research question posits an inquiry into the supporting and inhibiting factors of instructional video in shaping the creativity of early childhood students at RA Bunayya Yogyakarta. The findings of this study, as presented in the research results, demonstrate that the incorporation of instructional videos has been proven to effectively augment the educational, motivational, and creative roles within the educational environment for children. Instructional videos offer a structured and engaging format for presenting information, which has been shown to motivate children to actively engage with the material by asking questions, exploring new concepts, and expressing their own ideas. The implementation of instructional videos in education is supported by a number of factors, including the active involvement of children, their motivation, and their enthusiasm. Notwithstanding the challenges posed by factors such as the limited availability of devices and the heterogeneity in children's interests and abilities, the efficacy of instructional videos in facilitating an interactive, engaging, and meaningful learning process remains substantiated. However, some challenges, such as limitations in technology and varying speeds of children's comprehension, were identified. Nevertheless, overall, instructional videos proved to make a positive contribution to early childhood creativity at RA Bunayya Yogyakarta.
