Abstract

The increasing use of digital wallet applications on Android devices as a medium for online gambling transactions highlights the urgent need for a reliable mobile forensic framework to support digital investigations. This study aims to develop and implement the Generic Models Mobile Forensic (GMMF) framework as a forensic tool to analyze digital wallet applications. The framework is constructed using the composite logic method, which integrates elements from existing digital forensic frameworks such as DFRWS, ACPO, and GCFIM. The purpose of applying composite logic is to create a new structure that is more adaptive and relevant to mobile forensic contexts. GMMF consists of systematic stages including data acquisition, analysis, and reporting, while ensuring the authenticity and integrity of digital evidence. The framework was tested using a case study involving a digital wallet application suspected of being used in online gambling activities. The results demonstrate that GMMF is capable of extracting transaction histories and other digital artifacts that can serve as valid forensic evidence in legal proceedings. Therefore, GMMF provides a practical contribution to the enhancement of mobile forensic investigation methods and offers an effective solution to the growing challenges of cybercrime, particularly those involving Android-based financial applications.
