Abstract
Encouraging good practices is an action or behavior that is repeated in daily life and is considered beneficial for character development in early childhood. However, in reality, some parents still do not support the practice of good practices in children at home. This study aims to describe the implementation of the method for encouraging good practices in early childhood and identify the inhibiting and supporting factors. This study is a qualitative study with descriptive qualitative data. Data collection techniques used observation, interviews, and documentation with teachers, principals, and parents as research subjects. The stages of data analysis were carried out using descriptive qualitative analysis. Data source triangulation was used to test the validity of the data. The results of the study indicate that several methods for encouraging good practices in early childhood are used by Pembina Bantul, Yogyakarta State Kindergarten, both in-class and out-of-class strategies, namely: 1) Process 2) Good practice habits in early childhood 3) Good practice habits in schools 4) Efforts to instill good practice values in schools 5) Special programs to instill good practice values in schools 6) Good practice values instilled in schools 7) Involvement in implementing good practice habits in schools involving the principal, teachers, parents, and students. There are supporting and inhibiting factors. The inhibiting factors are: 1) Parents who do not support the school program 2) Uncontrolled digital broadcasts and the influence of social circles. Meanwhile, the supporting factors are: 1) Teachers provide role models, Parents also provide role models, 2) Involvement of all parties (teachers and parents).
