Abstract
The rapid growth of online transactions through marketplace supported by expanding infrastructure has transformed online transactions into a means of fulfilling daily consumer needs. This surge in online transactions has led to increased shipping volumes for courier service. PT XYZ is a logistics company servicing major Indonesian marketplace platforms, experiencing up to 50% increase in daily delivery targets during peak seasons. Preliminary field observations found common work fatigue symptoms among couriers, such as musculoskeletal discomfort particularly in the back and shoulders, alongside three vehicle related accidents and one overload related injury in the past 13 months. This study analyzed the effects of mental workload, length of service, working hours, sleep quality, and age on work fatigue among PT XYZ couriers. All 47 motorcycle couriers at PT XYZ participated as respondents. Data were collected using questionnaires and analyze using multiple linear regression method. The results indicate that that the independent variables significantly influence work fatigue. Individually, the variables of mental workload, length of service, working hours, and age did not have significant effect on work fatigue. Sleep quality was the only variable with a significant individual effect on work fatigue. The company is advised to prioritize policies that support adequate rest patterns and sleep quality to facilitate optimal courier recovery.
