Abstract

This research intent on knowing information behavior disable student at Giwangan Yogyakarta state elementary school of library. Data is taken from three disable student informant in State Elementary School of Giwangan Yogyakarta. This research is applying for sampling purposive technique. The theory that used in this research is TD Wilson’s theory concerning information behavior. This research is applying for qualitative method. Data collected through observation, semi-structural interview, and documentation. Data analysis of this research used the Miles’s and Huberman’s theory, which is included data reduction, data service, and verification. Validity test of data in this research is credibility test, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The result from this research is information needs. Disable student’s information needs are information needs which deal with school and student proclivity. Second, information searching strategy. The disable student Information searching strategy are searching on the shelf by themselves, asking to librarian, teacher, friend and looking at the internet. Third, information utilizing. Disable student information utilizing are reading and borrowing book that have been found. Suggest and recommendations of this research are needs an attention to disable student for continuous read and doing creativity. Because teacher and associate role have big influenced in disable student information behavior. Key words: information, information behavior, disable student.
