Abstract

Notebook selection process by prospective buyers often without the use of judgment and facilities, giving rise to the purchase is less effective. Therefore, in this research made a decision support application systems to assist in the process of selecting a laptop with PROMETHEE methods. Preference Ranking Organization Method for Enrichment Evaluation (PROMETHEE) is a method of determining the order (priority) in the multicriteria analysis. In the case of the notebook product selection, the method is suitable to generate recommendations based on ranking. The input of the system are value of five criteria, those are RAM’s capacity, hard drive capacity, wide screen monitor, weight, and price. Whereas the input of the alternatives are notebook products that the criteria already initialized before by the system. While the output of this system is a recommended notebook product based on ranking. From the experimental results of notebook product selection using PROMETHEE methods that conducted on 10 respondents, 50% agreed percentage obtained with system functionality, 80.435% agree with the view that the system is simple and can be easily used by the users, 90% agreed that this system has benefits for users. Overall, this system can recommend the notebook product based on RAM capacity, hard drive capacity, wide screen monitor, weight and price for people.
