Abstract
This research aims to evaluate 2X1 notation to al-Qur’an subject and related knowledge in Islamic Classification System: Adaptation and Extension of DDC to Islamic Section Religion Department of Indonesia Republic based on the good criteria of Islamic classification system according to Taylor, Barwick Sayers and Hamakonda. The method used in this research is library research which the researcher uses her analysis method by: examining draft of Islamic classification system and draft of DDC classification as input material, examining many kinds of Islamic books related to the subject of al-Qur’an and related knowledge, such as al-Qur’an knowledge, al-Qur’an language, al-Qur’an history and so on, analyzing Islamic classification system based on class number and its subject, searching reference source and making critical analysis related to classification system in accordance with their respective disciplines. Based on the result of conducted research, the 2X1 notation to al-Qur’an subject and related knowledge in Islamic classification system: adaptation and extension of DDC to Islamic section is not eligible with the good criteria of Islamic classification system. The result of this research recommends that the development of Islam classification system is needed: adaptation and extension of DDC to Islamic Section Religion Department of Indonesia Republic.
