Abstract

This study aimed to determine how user perceptions to given library reference services in The Unit II Economics and Business Faculties library of Gadjah Mada University. This research is expected to maximize service reference component that has not been going well as development in service. The methods used to in this research is a descriptive quantitative has taken with a populations of 11.253 and 3790 active members. The results of samples has taken by the Taro Yamane formula, samples obtained 97 people. The respondents from this research are diploma or undergraduate students, postgraduate students, doctoral programs students, profession/ lecturers/ research, alumnus , and public. The variable in this research is a single variable, that is evaluation of reference services. The methods used to colleted data are questionnaire with likert scale, interview, observation, documentation. Analysis of data using Mean and Grand Mean formula. To categorize perception user using a scatter chart that will be likely to lead to positive or negative tend. The users of measurement perception based on three aspects evaluation of reference services Lancaster on Richard E Bopp„s book proposed by the inputs, outputs, and outcomes. The result of this research showed that users perception towards reference services in The Unit II Library Economics and Business Faculties of Gadjah Mada University overall obtain an average value total 2,92. Viewed of the value of interpretation still needs to be improved again that inputs and outputs aspect. This research is expected to usefull for the library to improve quality of reference, so the functions reference services can be going to maximum.
