Abstract

This research aim is to understand the effectiveness of the information retrieval system in the OPAC Library of Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University by recall and precision review. This research is descriptive quantitative. Determination of the sample using simple random sampling. The sample in this study was taken from the 23rd edition of e-DDC as subject of the search. Data collection using laptop to determine the value of hits, noise, misses. The recall on the title field obtained is 60,20935% and precision is 47,64018%. While recall on the subject field is 74,32801% and precision on the subject field is 65,835729%. So OPAC Library University Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa can be said effective through the subject field. While on title field ineffevtive because the precision is under 50%.
