Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the implementation of National Library Standards (SNP) 11:2017 in the management of the MTs Negeri 9 Bantul Library, identifying obstacles and efforts in implementing National Library Standards (SNP) 11:2017. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. Data collection methods in this research are observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research are that the National School Library Standards (SNP) 11:2017 have 7 standards which contain several indicators. The Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri 9 Bantul Library has met 2 appropriate and comprehensively implemented standards, namely personnel standards and information & communication technology standards. Meanwhile, for the other 5 standards, namely collection standards, facilities & infrastructure standards, service standards, implementation standards, and library management standards, there are still several indicators that have not been met. The obstacles faced by libraries are the limited number of book collections, lack of funds for additional computer facilities for librarians, lack of library staff, and limited capabilities of librarians in the field of information technology. Meanwhile, the efforts made to overcome these obstacles include the library trying to increase its collection by holding book donation programs, seeking funding through school committees, and trying to increase library staff. The suggestions from researchers are that libraries are expected to increase the number of collections each year, which according to SNP 11:2017 is at least 10%, namely 1,000 titles, increase library staff, provide information technology training for librarians, and add computer facilities for librarians.
