Abstract

The existence of the UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library Instagram account with the name @perpusuinyogyakarta still allows the UIN Sunan Kalijaga academic community to obtain incomplete information about the library. This depends on the interaction pattern of the personal account and the pattern of information dissemination by the library account. This problem is what encourages researchers to observe the availability of information (variable X), the fulfillment of information needs (variable Y), and the influence between the two variables. This research was carried out using descriptive quantitative methods. Distribution of questionnaires was carried out onlive via Direct Message (DM). Then the data was processed using Mean, Grand Mean, and Simple Linear Regression analysis with IBM SPSS. The results of this research show that the availability of information on UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library Instagram is good. Fulfilling the information needs of users is also good. Meanwhile, the influence of variable X on variable Y is 41,5% with a strong relationship of 0,644. The novelty of this research is on measuring the availability of information and then analyzing its influence shows that Instagram account of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library is not fully accessed by the academic community, as is proven by the result of the analysis regarding the frequency which has the lowest value among the other indicators of variable Y. Research is limited to how content is distributed on Instagram and its influence on users. Meanwhile, in reality, there are other factors that influence the fulfillment of information needs via Instagram.
