Abstract
This study explores the attitudes and ideological positions of news viewers who viewed the news that Iran initiated retaliatory strikes against Israel by launching more than 100 drones on NBC News' YouTube channel. The study employs the theory of the appraisal attitude system to examine how viewers of the video conveyed their assessment of the conflict by looking at the use of affect, judgment, and appreciation. The study's research process was explained through the use of a qualitative descriptive method. The results of this study indicate that the majority of the public cast criticism on the actors involved in the conflict, as evidenced by the elevated use of negative appraisal and the predominance of right-wing ideology.Conversely, the augmented use of affection and appreciation in the second period signifies heightened emotional engagement and an evolving evaluative stance among viewers. These outcomes underscore the role of social media as a conduit for diverse audience responses, which in turn influence their ideological perspectives on political conflicts.
