Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effectiveness of infographics as a information dissemination media on the Sebelas Maret University Library’s web. The type of research used is descriptive quantitative. The research subjects were library users who accessed the Sebelas Maret University Library’s web. The objects of this research were infographics that shown on the Sebelas Maret University Library’s web. The population of this research were the users of the Sebelas Maret University Library in the 2020, amounting to 24920 people with 100 respondents as samples that were chosen using the Slovin’s formula. Data collection in this research was conducted through observation, interview, questionnaire and documentation. The obtained data were analyzed by the mean and grand mean formula. The infographics effectiveness measurement was based on Siricharoen’s theory which divides infographics into 4 aspects, namely usefulness, legibility, design and aesthetics. The result of this research showed that infograpichs as a information dissemination media on the Sebelas Maret University Library’s web were effective with a value of 3.16. The sub-variable of usefulness got a value of 3.25, the subvariable of legibility got a value of 3.16, the sub-variable of design got a value of 3.10, and the sub-variable of aesthetics got a value of 3.12. The result of this research can be use by the Sebelas Maret University Library for its library’s web evaluation. The used of infographics is already effective in every aspect, so it’s better for Sebelas Maret University Library to continue and improve the use of the infographics as a information dissemination media.
